Gulfport

The City of Gulfport became an Excel By 5 Certified Community in July 2014. For two years, a dedicated group of volunteers in the community worked diligently as an Excel By 5 Coalition to survey the community, analyze the data, and create learning opportunities for families designed to meet their needs. This designation is the culmination of months of hard work by a community that had vowed to make life better for families and children. We view the Excel By 5 certification as proof that Gulfport offers “Blue Ribbon” support services to families with young children who live here.

Thanks go especially to the Gulfport cabinet members and committee chairs who have worked to present community events, health and safety fairs, training sessions, and resource guides since the group’s first meeting in May 2012. The Coalition is determined to continue growing with the ever-changing needs of the Gulfport community.
