Alligator

The Town of Alligator became an Excel By 5 Candidate Community in January 2013. The Coalition consists of passionate members from the community who also serve on the Mayor’s Health Council. Although the process has been an uphill battle for the past seven years, we have learned the benefits of collaboration and building strong partnerships. Our community motto: “Passionately Pursuing A Healthier Community,” has been the fuel energizing us to prioritize our youngest residents.  Our goal for 2021 is to complete the certification process to become a Certified Excel By 5 Community! Alligator, MS is a small incorporated “Village” located in Bolivar County with a population of 186 residents. Tommie Brown currently serves as the mayor. Our small community has one convenience store, two churches and is part of the North Bolivar Consolidated School District.
